FAQs
Coaching
what is the difference between coaching and counseling or therapy?
Coaching, counseling and therapy, while all involving guidance and support, differ in their primary focus and the types of issues they address. Coaching is often goal-oriented, helping individuals and couples achieve relational objectives and personal changes that can increase a sense of joy and quality of life. Coaching is not healthcare. Therapy and counseling, are more specialized and treat mental illness. Therapists are licensed to diagnose and treat mental health conditions whereas a Certified Professional Life Coach is not. Licensed therapists and counselors are limited to working with clients who are physically located in their state of licensure. Professional coaches can coach anywhere in the world. Certified Professional Life Coaches typically charge less than a licensed therapist as they are not treating or diagnosing any medical or psychological conditions and do not take insurance. Both therapy and coaching help clients improve their overall well-being.

How long should i plan to commit to coaching sessions?
Each session is 50 minutes. The first free introductory session is 20 minutes. Individual coaching commitments are re-evaluated every 12 weeks but the length of time you seek coaching is entirely up to you and driven by your wants and needs.
What is your approach to spirituality, religion or faith in coaching sessions?
My coaching approach is client-centered. My personal spirituality is a guiding force in my life, and it informs my values of compassion, integrity and growth which I bring to every coaching relationship.
If your spiritual beliefs are important to you, we can explore how we can support you using that framework. Conversely, if you prefer to keep our discussions focused on professional or personal development, that is perfectly fine. My commitment is to support you in a respectful and nonjudgmental way focused on your unique needs and capabilities.

No. You do not have to identify with any particular religion to attend a skills class. You are welcome here. While the skills workbook is deeply rooted in the wisdom of Biblical scripture, if you are comfortable with others in the group having a spiritual focus and discussing concepts from a faith-based perspective, you’ll find immense value in the practical skills and supportive community offered. Our goal will be to equip everyone with tools for personal growth, regardless of their spiritual background.
